Pramono Permits Homecomers to Deposit Motorcycles and Cars at Sub-district Office, District Office, and City Hall
JAKARTA — Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has authorised homecomers to deposit their personal vehicles at government offices operated by the Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI Jakarta) during the 2026 Lebaran homecoming period.
Homecomers can deposit their vehicles at various government offices, ranging from sub-district offices (kantor lurah), district offices (kantor camat), to city halls (kantor wali kota) distributed across the Jakarta region.
“The Jakarta Provincial Government will permit homecomers to deposit their vehicles, particularly motorcycles, at offices owned by the Jakarta Provincial Government,” Pramono said when met in the Pondok Rangon area, Cipayung District, East Jakarta, on Wednesday (18 March 2026).
Additionally, the Jakarta Provincial Government has dispatched 744 buses to 20 cities and six provinces as part of a free homecoming programme on Tuesday (18 March 2026).
“Including the free homecoming initiative where we transported approximately 35,000 people with 744 buses,” Pramono stated.
Beyond buses, the Jakarta Provincial Government also provided motorcycle transportation services using trucks. On Monday (17 March 2026), approximately 900 motorcycles were transported to their owners’ hometowns.
According to Pramono, this measure was taken because long-distance motorcycle travel poses a high risk of fatigue for homecomers.
“Alhamdulillah those riding motorcycles ended up putting their motorcycles on the truck and travelled inside the truck. Now, most of them have already reached their respective hometowns and it has gone smoothly and safely,” Pramono said.
