Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has ordered operators to ensure that Transjakarta and Mikrotrans services operate at all 11 stopping stations of the Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT line to facilitate public mobility.

“For all LRT routes, there are 11 points, and I have ordered Transjakarta to enter all of them. If Transjakarta cannot be utilised, then Mikrotrans will be used. This has already been implemented,” Pramono stated when met at the DKI Jakarta PMI Building on Thursday.

Pramono noted that Manggarai Station is now a new hub that will serve as a transit point for approximately 1.2 million to 1.3 million people daily. Consequently, the area will connect three modes of transport: Transjakarta, KRL (Commuter Line), and LRT.

Pramono added that his administration will continue to carry out improvements in the Manggarai area to ensure it functions effectively.

Previously, the Chairman of the Jakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), Suhud Alynudin, requested that the Jakarta Provincial Government increase the number of Jaklingko or Mikrotrans services to reach smaller areas, making it easier for the public to use public transport. Following the inauguration of the Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT, he expressed the desire for better connectivity between various transport modes.

“We are striving to integrate different modes. A key note is the importance of support; Mikrotrans should reach smaller areas so that people can travel from residential neighbourhoods. Therefore, Mikrotrans services should be increased,” said Suhud.

Suhud believes that if all modes of transport are well-connected, it will encourage more people to utilise public transportation.
