Pramono Opens Taman Sari Community Health Centre with Expanded Facilities
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has inaugurated the Taman Sari Community Health Centre in West Jakarta, which has expanded facilities for services ranging from care for pregnant women and babies to older people.
“I have just seen the facilities, and I think they are excellent, especially given that this is a densely populated area. Almost all services are available, including for pregnant women, who can even receive inpatient care here,” Pramono said after visiting the centre on Monday.
Pramono said the centre also offers pregnancy exercise classes, baby massage, a gym and exercise sessions for older people.
He added that the centre was built on a plot of around 976 square metres, with a building area of approximately 2,725 square metres.
“This facility can serve around 124,500 people, with an average of 500 visitors or patients each day. It is supported by five satellite health centres and 63 integrated health posts,” Pramono said.
Jakarta Health Agency head Ani Ruspitawati said the centre had previously been located on Jalan Blustru.
The former site was considered too cramped to meet the standards for a community health centre. Moving Taman Sari to a larger location has enabled it to expand its activities and services.
Ani said the services and activities at the new centre were generally similar to those at the former site, including round-the-clock services.
“The old location was very cramped because it only met the standards for a satellite health centre. Moving here gives us more room for activities, and we have been able to develop more services, particularly preventive health visits,” Ani said.
Ani added that the former centre would remain in use. It is now operating as the Taman Sari Satellite Community Health Centre.
