Pramono Opens Jakarta Ramadan Festival at Bundaran HI, Running Until 31 March
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has officially opened the Jakarta Ramadan Festival at Bundaran HI in Central Jakarta. The festival runs from today until 31 March 2026, featuring various events and discount programmes for residents.
“Colleagues, today I, together with the Jakarta Regional People’s Representative Council, are holding an event called the Jakarta Ramadan Festival. This event is being held from today until 31 March,” said Pramono at Bundaran HI in Central Jakarta on Friday, 27 February 2026.
Pramono outlined several series of events that will enliven the festival, including the Jakarta Light Festival and Jakarta Festive Wonder. The Jakarta Provincial Government is promoting the theme “Return to Jakarta” to encourage residents to enjoy Ramadan and Eid in the capital.
He stated that the Jakarta Provincial Government would provide tax incentives to shopping centres and hotels to enable them to offer substantial discounts to visitors. The discounts offered are even targeted to reach 70 per cent at the height of the event.
“We will provide ease of operation and tax incentives for shopping centres, hotels, and similar establishments so they can provide significant discounts. We are confident that at the peak, discounts could reach 70 per cent,” he said.
A total of 101 shopping centres are confirmed to participate in Jakarta Festive Wonder. Pramono is optimistic that transaction volumes during the Ramadan and Eid periods this year could exceed previous achievements.
Despite promoting the “Return to Jakarta” theme, the Jakarta Provincial Government is still providing a free coach service programme for residents wishing to return to their hometowns. A total of 690 coaches have been prepared to transport approximately 26,500 migrant workers.
Pramono added that the Jakarta Provincial Government will ensure security and comfort throughout the festival and Eid period. He is confident that Jakarta has experience in hosting major events.
“We are confident that Jakarta is accustomed to hosting major events, so we will certainly ensure security to the maximum extent possible,” he concluded.
