Pramono on 2026 Jakarta Budget Decrease: Development Quality Will Not Be Compromised
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has emphasised that the decrease in the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) proposed by the Jakarta Provincial Government will not diminish the quality of development in the Indonesian capital.
“I am confident that with the available APBD, the quality of development in Jakarta will certainly not be reduced,” Pramono stated in Central Jakarta on Wednesday (2/9).
He noted that the Jakarta APBD has been drafted with caution, including mature planning for creative financing efforts. “I have conveyed to the Regional Government Budget Team (TAPD), who are conducting discussions with the Jakarta DPRD, that it is better for us to have an APBD that is prudent and careful, yet executable,” he explained.
“It is not about having a large figure that cannot be implemented effectively,” Pramono added.
Previously, the Jakarta Provincial Government submitted the Draft Regional Regulation (Ranperda) regarding the 2026 Budget Amendment on Monday (31/8).
“The total planned amendment for the 2026 APBD is 79.59 trillion rupiah, a decrease of 2.13 per cent compared to the 2026 Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget of 81.32 trillion rupiah,” stated Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno during the Jakarta Provincial DPRD Plenary Session last Monday.
According to the official Jakarta Provincial Government portal, this amendment includes a 2.93 per cent decrease in regional revenue, falling from Rp71.45 trillion to Rp69.36 trillion.
Meanwhile, regional expenditure is planned to increase by 1.08 per cent, from Rp74.28 trillion to Rp75.08 trillion. The Provincial Government will direct this expenditure towards fulfilling the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD), quick-win programmes, basic services, productive spending, and community assistance.
“Regional expenditure is intended to allocate budget to sectors that directly touch the interests of the community, including mandatory affairs related to basic services, guided by Minimum Service Standards,” Rano explained.
