The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI) is set to implement a Work From Home (WFH) policy every Friday for Civil Servants (ASN). “On Fridays, we will implement work from home,” said Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung after holding a plenary leadership meeting to follow up on the central government’s policy, on Wednesday (1/4/2026). Pramono stated that this policy follows the Circular from the Minister of Home Affairs and related ministerial decisions. “Regarding the work from home that has been decided by the central government every Friday, the DKI Jakarta Government will follow it,” Pramono said. However, he emphasised that WFH does not apply to all employees, particularly those in public service sectors and strategic positions. Vital sectors such as health, fire brigades (Gulkarmat), Satpol PP, Transportation Agency, and other public services will continue to work in the field as usual. “There are some exceptions that will not be included in work from home, for example, mid-level and entry-level officials, as well as matters related to public services like Satpol PP, Transportation Agency, Health, Gulkarmat/Fire Department, they will continue to carry out their duties as usual,” he explained. This policy applies to employees in the administrative sector. The WFH quota set by Pemprov DKI is in the range of 25% to a maximum of 50%. The technical details regarding WFH are being prepared by the DKI Jakarta Secretary General together with the Head of BKD and will be stipulated in a Governor’s Decree. With this policy, there are two working days for ASN that are specifically regulated by Pemprov DKI. Namely, Wednesdays for public transportation for ASN and Fridays for WFH. “There are two days with special arrangements, every Wednesday public transportation will still be implemented, while on Fridays we will implement work from home,” he revealed. Pramono also mentioned that Pemprov DKI will conduct strict supervision of DKI ASN employees who misuse the policy for holidays. One of them is by conducting mobile attendance and prohibiting the use of private vehicles for ASN who are on the WFH schedule. “And it has been reported that anyone who violates will be subject to strict sanctions,” Pramono stressed.
