Pramono notes high enthusiasm for 'Namu Balai Kota' programme
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo stated that public enthusiasm for the ‘Namu Balai Kota’ programme is so high that registration queues have become lengthy.
“The enthusiasm for Namu Balai Kota is indeed very high. We have actually had to implement shifts. However, because the interest was beyond our expectations, the queues have become long,” Pramono explained when met at the Jakarta International Velodrome, East Jakarta, on Sunday.
Pramono noted that such occurrences are expected as the programme only commenced yesterday, Saturday (3/10).
Nevertheless, Pramono ensured that the event will be held regularly twice a month so that the entire community can familiarise themselves with the City Hall environment.
“In principle, because this was only the first day, this is normal. However, we will open it routinely so that Jakarta residents who wish to learn about City Hall and its contents are welcome to do so,” said Pramintoro.
Previously, Pramono mentioned that the walking tour programme would be open twice a month. The programme began on Saturday, with visiting hours from 08:00 to 17:30 WIB.
Visitors will be divided into several shifts to participate in the tour within the City Hall complex.
Furthermore, Pramono explained that during the tour, citizens can view several rooms that have long been part of the government’s activities at City Hall, such as the Governor’s office, the meeting room for the Governor and officials, and the inauguration chamber.
“The Governor’s office, the inauguration site, the Great Hall, City Hall, and so on,” Pramono clarified.
In addition to the designated areas, Pramono stated that there are several other facilities that may be opened to the public in the future.
“Of course, there will be others that I will permit to be opened to the public. Hopefully, this will lead to better engagement,” said Pramono.
