Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has stressed that not all Transjabodetabek routes will undergo fare adjustments. Speaking in West Jakarta on Thursday, Pramono clarified what he described as improper media reports suggesting fares would rise by Rp10,000 to Rp15,000 across the network. He stated only specific routes would see adjustments, including the Blok M-Soekarno Hatta Airport service. While he did not detail the exact routes or new fares, he pledged the adjustments would not burden residents of Jakarta or its satellite cities. Pramono emphasised his priority was making Jakartans more comfortable and ensuring they enjoy using Transjabodetabek, rather than focusing on price changes. Coinciding with the 499th anniversary of Jakarta, he expressed hope that public transport ridership would continue to increase. The Governor had previously opened the possibility of adding a new category to the existing 15 groups eligible for free public transport in the capital. He confirmed that fare adjustments would be distance-based to avoid pushing commuters back to private vehicles.
