Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that a mutual respect attitude is the primary foundation in maintaining unity amid differences in backgrounds. This was expressed while attending a family gathering of the larger RT 011/RW 016 Pondok Indah community at The Ballroom Pondok Indah Golf Course, South Jakarta, on Sunday. “I often say that when given the mandate to become Jakarta’s Governor, I must be a governor for all, namely for all groups, all religions, and all strata. Therefore, diversity must continue to be preserved,” he said. Pramono reaffirmed the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s commitment to continuously supporting activities that strengthen brotherhood and tolerance in society. “Gatherings like this need to be nurtured together. Within the framework of halal bihalal, diversity becomes our main strength as Jakarta residents,” he stated. On the same occasion, Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Rachmat Pambudy expressed gratitude for being able to attend and feel the togetherness of the residents. “I am grateful to be present at this event. The idea of strengthening gatherings in diversity is something very meaningful. Pondok Indah has been like home to us. For 40 years living here, this is the first time I truly feel a gathering that crosses ages, ethnicities, religions, and backgrounds,” he said. Rachmat added that Jakarta provides space for its residents to cultivate a sense of togetherness and pride as one community. “Together with Pak Pram, Pondok Indah residents can feel proud as part of Jakarta. That pride grows from our togetherness as fellow residents,” he said. Meanwhile, Committee Chair Ning Pramono described the event not only as an Idulfitri 1447 Hijriah halal bihalal gathering but also as a celebration of the diversity experienced together throughout the year. “This is not just halal bihalal, but also a form of gratitude for the togetherness in various celebrations, from Christmas, New Year, Imlek, Nyepi, to Easter,” she said. The event was also attended by Deputy Chairman of the KPK RI Agus Joko Purnomo, DKI Jakarta DPRD Member Ali Suharli, Deputy Mayor of South Jakarta Ali Murtado, as well as several local figures and residents.
