Pramono Meets Cabinet Secretary, Seeks Presidential Support for Infrastructure Inauguration
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung met with Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya on Monday to discuss accelerating the completion of several infrastructure projects. Pramono stated that the meeting focused on collaboration between the central government and the Jakarta administration to improve public facilities. “It is true that this morning I met with the Cabinet Secretary at the Cabinet Secretariat office. I was there for nine years, and this meeting was in the context of collaboration between the central government and the Jakarta government to improve infrastructure as Jakarta becomes a global city,” Pramono said at City Hall. He added that several facilities are expected to be inaugurated soon through joint efforts with the central government.
Pramono specifically highlighted the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B project, which includes stations from Rawamangun to Manggarai. He confirmed that the project has reached 95% completion and is expected to be operational in August 2026. The governor has formally requested that President Prabowo Subianto officiate the opening ceremony. “We are proposing that the President inaugurate it because this will be a milestone or a legacy that changes the face of Jakarta,” Pramono explained during a separate visit to East Jakarta. He noted that the new line will address severe traffic congestion, particularly for commuters travelling from the northern parts of the city to the centre.
