Pramono: LRT Pegangsaan 2 Station Renamed Kelapa Gading
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has announced that the name of the Jakarta LRT station previously designated as Pegangsaan 2 will be changed back to Kelapa Gading. The decision was made to avoid confusion, as there are plans to name another station Proklamasi. “There will be a station named Proklamasi, so to avoid confusion, the name will remain Kelapa Gading because it is located in Kelapa Gading,” Pramono stated at the Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday. The Kelapa Gading station is part of the Jakarta LRT line that will terminate at Manggarai Station. The 12.2 km route from Kelapa Gading to Manggarai will feature a total of 11 stations. Pramono noted that the travel time from Kelapa Gading to Manggarai is estimated at 28 minutes. He expressed confidence that this route will become a new backbone for transportation in Jakarta, with an estimated daily capacity of 80,000 passengers. The Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT route is targeted for completion by August, with plans for President Prabowo Subianto to officiate the inauguration.
