Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the Jakarta Provincial Government already had a programme to renovate residents’ uninhabitable homes, and that it was under way.

“Jakarta has included a programme for homes that are unfit to live in. I can’t recall the figure, but it is definitely in Jakarta,” Pramono said at the inauguration of the Taman Sari District Community Health Centre in West Jakarta on Monday (26 October 2026).

Pramono said the Jakarta Provincial Government was also working with the Ministry of Housing and several relevant agencies to address uninhabitable homes. He said the programme was part of the government’s efforts to improve housing quality.

“We are also working with the Ministry of Housing and several relevant agencies on programmes to address uninhabitable homes, including a home renovation programme,” he said.

Pramono assured residents that the programme to improve uninhabitable homes would continue. He said it was not new in Jakarta.

“We will carry it out soon, and it is already under way. In Jakarta, this is not an issue; it has already been done,” he said.
