Pramono Invites Prabowo to Inaugurate Pole-Free Rasuna Said Road

Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung has invited President Prabowo Subianto to inaugurate the new face of Jalan Rasuna Said, now free from monorail poles.

The inauguration is planned for 22 June 2026.

Pramono revealed this while attending the Installation of the Board of the West Kalimantan Family Association (IKKB) in the Cempaka Putih area, Central Jakarta, on Sunday (3/5).

Quoting from detik.com, Pramono initially highlighted the issue of leaders’ egos in Indonesia.

“One of the weaknesses of this nation is the oversized ego of its leaders. Once they become leaders, they do not want to continue what has not been completed by previous leaders. This must be resolved,” Pramono said in his speech.

“So if you look at what I have done in the first year, I have completed what Pak Sutiyoso left, the monorail on Rasuna Said has now been neatly dismantled. On 22 June, I will invite the President, hopefully he will be willing to inaugurate it,” he continued, the senior PDIP politician added.

Previously, under Pramono Anung’s DKI Provincial Government, the abandoned monorail poles along Jalan Rasuna Said, which began in 2004, were dismantled.

The dismantling of the monorail pole foundations along Jalan Rasuna Said began on 14 January 2026.

At that time, Pramono along with Deputy Governor Rano Karno also invited previous DKI Governors, including Sutiyoso, for the kick-off of the monorail pole dismantling on Jalan Rasuna Said.

Besides Rasuna Said, rows of abandoned monorail poles are also located in the Senayan area. However, Deputy Governor Rano recently stated that the authority to dismantle the monorail poles in Senayan lies with the State Secretariat.

Issue of RS Sumber Waras

Pramono then highlighted the issue of Sumber Waras Hospital that arose during the leadership era of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok).

Currently, he said the issue has been resolved, and RS Sumber Waras is an international hospital.

“Likewise with Sumber Waras Hospital, this is a legacy from Pak Ahok that was not completed. Alhamdulillah, now the land issue has been settled. We will build it into an international hospital so that what was once envisioned by Pak Ahok can be implemented,” he said.

Homework on JIS

Pramono also mentioned completing matters related to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), built during the 2017-2022 DKI Governor’s leadership, Anies Baswedan.

Pramono said he built the Ancol-JIS bridge and the KRL station at JIS.

“What about Pak Anies? JIS. If JIS does not have good transportation–if we do not connect it to Ancol–it will remain a problem. So I made the connection–and the connector is Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN)–built a 350-metre bridge,” he said.

“Alhamdulillah, I received support from the Ministry of Transportation; under JIS, we have completed building the KRL station this month so that people from anywhere can easily reach JIS,” he added.
