Jakarta’s Provincial Government inaugurated Bendera Pusaka Park, which integrates Ayodya Park, Leuser Park, and Langsat Park in South Jakarta on Saturday (14 March 2026). The inauguration was also attended by Indonesia’s fifth president and chair of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) central board, Megawati Soekarnoputri.

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo stated that the park covers approximately 5.6 hectares. Furthermore, the park, located in the Kebayoran area of South Jakarta, is equipped with a jogging track measuring 1.2 kilometres in length.

“With an area of approximately 5.6 hectares and a jogging track of 1.2 kilometres, this park is expected to become one of the choice public spaces for Jakarta residents to exercise and conduct activities,” Pramono said when inaugurating the park on Saturday afternoon.

He explained that the park’s design was inspired by the philosophy of the Red and White Flag (Sang Saka Merah Putih). The concept was realised through two main zones: a red zone that is active and dynamic, and a white zone that is calm and reflective. The two zones are connected by pedestrian paths, connecting bridges, and open spaces that allow visitors to enjoy the park comprehensively.

Additionally, the park is equipped with various vegetation elements. There are 12 types of plants with a total of approximately 285 trees, including several rare species such as menteng, ebony, magnolia, and calamansi.

According to the former PDIP general secretary, various sports and recreational facilities are available to support community activities. These include a padel court, a multi-functional court that can be used for basketball, tennis, and badminton, as well as an amphitheatre for community activities and performances.

Bendera Pusaka Park is also equipped with connecting tunnels between parks. The tunnel was built to facilitate visitors in exploring the entire area.

Pramono explained that a statue of Ibu Fatmawati stands in the park area as a tribute to the figure who sewed the Red and White Flag. The statue was created by sculptor Teguh Ostenrik, whilst the architectural design of the area was conceived by architect Yori Antar.

“Hopefully this park will provide great benefits for Jakarta residents. Besides serving as a recreation and sports space, this park is also expected to be a public space that strengthens social interaction among the community,” Pramono said.

According to him, Bendera Pusaka Park will be open 24 hours. It has been equipped with CCTV and security systems to ensure visitor comfort and safety.

Regarding park development, Pramono emphasised that the project did not use the provincial budget. “The development of this park is entirely the result of cooperation with the private sector through the Building Floor Coefficient (KLB) mechanism and the Location/Land Release Principle Approval Letter (SP3L), so it does not use provincial budget funds.”

Regarding parking access, Jakarta’s Provincial Government appealed to the public to utilise public transportation when visiting the park. The park’s location is in an area connected to the public transportation network, including access from the relatively nearby Blok M area.

“We appeal to residents who wish to visit this park to preferably use public transportation. Access is relatively easy from various directions. If everyone comes with private vehicles, of course the available parking capacity will not be sufficient,” Pramono said.
