Pramono Inspects Discount Market in Ciganjur, South Jakarta, Distributes 500 Sembako Packages
Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung personally inspected the distribution of cheap staple food packages in Ciganjur, South Jakarta. A total of 500 staple food packages were prepared at the site. ‘Today I visited and greeted residents at the distribution of cheap staple food packages, a collaboration between community initiatives and Perumda Pasar Jaya,’ Pramono said at the Balai Warga Ciganjur, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, on Thursday (5 March 2026). He explained that total packages prepared for South Jakarta amounted to 1,000. However, at the Balai Warga Ciganjur, 500 packages were distributed to residents. Each staple package is actually valued at Rp 150,000. However, residents only need to pay Rp 100,000 to redeem it. ‘Its value is actually Rp 150,000, sold or bought by residents at Rp 100,000. Why are we doing this? It is to share,’ he said. Pramono hopes the cheap redemption programme will help ease the burden of the people, especially in meeting basic needs. Meanwhile, the President Director of Perumda Pasar Jaya, Agus Himawan, explained the contents of the staple food packages distributed to residents. ‘It contains staple foods: 5 kilograms of rice, 2 litres of cooking oil, 1 kilogram of flour, and 1 kilogram of sugar,’ Agus said. The cheap redemption programme for staple foods is also planned to be implemented in other sub-districts in Jakarta as part of efforts to assist the public’s needs.
