Jakarta (ANTARA) – Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has inaugurated the port pier of the Jakarta Regional Transportation Agency at Pari Island, Thousand Islands, on Friday.

The construction of the port pier represents an initiative by the Jakarta Regional Government to strengthen maritime transport infrastructure and connectivity in the archipelago region.

“Today, we are inaugurating the port pier of the Transportation Agency. Hopefully, this will provide benefits for residents in the Thousand Islands, particularly on Pari Island,” Pramono said at Pari Island, Thousand Islands, Friday.

The Pari Island port pier features a terminal building equipped with various supporting facilities, including prayer rooms, a canteen, toilets, and other amenities.

With improved transport access, the mobility of residents, distribution of goods, and economic activity in the Thousand Islands is expected to improve significantly.

On this occasion, Pramono also highlighted unfinished port development on Pramuka Island. He instructed his team to prioritise the completion of this infrastructure development this year.

“Indeed, at Pramuka Island, there is still a port that has not been completed. I have asked for it to be prioritised for completion this year. I have already discussed this with the Deputy Head of the Transportation Agency, and it will be a priority for immediate completion,” Pramono said.
