Pramono inaugurates Kebayoran Baru Sub-district Office and two embung reservoirs in South Jakarta
Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung Wibowo, inaugurated Kebayoran Baru Sub-district Office together with Embung Pemuda I and Embung Jagakarsa in South Jakarta on Tuesday.
In his remarks, he said the three facilities inaugurated have strategic functions.
The Kebayoran Baru Sub-district Office is expected to enhance the quality of administrative and public services, while Embung Pemuda I and Embung Jagakarsa will play a role in reducing inundation and strengthening water storage capacity in South Jakarta.
‘The Embung Pemuda I Srengseng Sawah and Embung Jagakarsa are projected to reduce inundation or floods in the local area by between 10 and 20 percent,’ Pramono said at the Kebayoran Baru Sub-district Office, South Jakarta, on Tuesday.
The Kebayoran Baru Sub-district Office was built as part of fulfilling social facilities and public facilities obligations by PT Danayasa Arthatama.
The new building, covering an area of 3,357.62 square metres with five floors, is equipped with a range of public service facilities as well as supporting spaces to improve convenience and efficiency of public services.
Pramono also asked that the Kebayoran Baru sub-district head and all his staff ensure that the new building is not only a representative government facility but also truly a service space that is open and easily accessible to the public.
‘The task of all of us is to provide services that are easier, faster, and better for the people. Because we know Kebayoran Baru is one of the favoured areas in South Jakarta,’ Pramono said.
The two embung serve as flood-control infrastructure, water conservation, and public spaces for residents.
Embung Jagakarsa was built in 2023, with landscaping completed in 2025. This embung has a wet cross-section area of 3,423 square metres, a depth of four metres, a storage volume of 13,692 cubic metres, and a catchment area of 561 hectares.
The infrastructure functions to reduce inundation in the RW 05 and RW 06 areas of Lenteng Agung urban village, while also helping regulate the water discharge from Kali Mampang towards Kali Krukut.
Meanwhile, Embung Pemuda I was built in 2024 and landscaping completed in 2025. This embung has a wet cross-section area of 8,718 square metres, a depth of 4 metres, a storage volume of 34,872 cubic metres, and a catchment area of 374.73 hectares.
Around the embung there are two connecting channels (PHB), namely PHB Babakan Atas and PHB Babakan Bawah.
Pramono hopes the two embung will be routinely maintained so that their benefits can be felt by the public in the long term, for flood control, water conservation, and as spaces for play and sport.
