Pramono: Hotels Provide Positive Contribution to Economic Development

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that the presence of a new international-standard hotel in the area will provide a positive contribution to economic development. “The presence of this international-standard hotel managed by Accor is expected to strengthen the tourism sector while driving economic growth in the West Jakarta region,” he said in a written statement in Jakarta on Saturday. Pramono Anung, who inaugurated the Mercure Jakarta Grogol hotel in the Grogol Petamburan area of Jakarta on Saturday, believes that the presence of this hotel will provide a positive contribution to Jakarta’s economic development. He added that the presence of this hotel not only brings hospitality services but also opens up opportunities for collaboration with various parties, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). “Cooperation with local MSMEs will continue to be developed so that economic benefits are directly felt by the community,” he said. Pramono stated that the hotel’s strategic location is considered an added value as a preferred destination for tourists and business travellers. He appreciated Sun Motor as the investor and Accor as the operator for their contribution to developing the hospitality sector in the capital. He views this investment as an important part in driving regional economic growth. According to him, the hotel features Betawi cultural nuances that are expected to serve as a showcase of culture introducing Jakarta’s authentic identity. “Not only as a place to stay, but also as a space for promoting culture and local products,” he said.
