The Jakarta Provincial Government is holding an open house at City Hall. Residents are beginning to arrive and queue in the pendopo of City Hall. Observations by detikcom at Jakarta City Hall on Saturday (21/3/2026) around 1:30 PM WIB showed residents starting to flock to City Hall. From housewives and online motorcycle taxi drivers to PPSU officers, they queued to shake hands with Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung. The queue of residents snaked in front of the pendopo to enter City Hall. Some of them brought their families and relatives. Former Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Djarot Saiful Hidayat, also attended the open house at City Hall. He said he was nostalgic visiting Jakarta City Hall during this Eid open house moment. He was impressed by various changes, including the stronger Betawi cultural atmosphere now felt in the Deputy Governor’s room. Djarot said he briefly revisited the room he once occupied during his tenure. Now, that room is occupied by Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Rano Karno. “I was nostalgic for a bit in the Deputy Governor’s room. Now it’s occupied by Mr. Deputy Governor. There are many changes, and they must be changed,” said Djarot. He assessed Rano Karno as a figure who loves culture. This is reflected in the room’s decoration filled with typical Betawi ornaments. “Mr. Rano is truly someone who loves culture. There are so many items with Betawi ethnic nuances, paintings, it’s nice,” he said. Djarot also highlighted the difference in this year’s Eid open house implementation. According to him, this is the first time the event is held at City Hall, not at the regional head’s private home. “This is the first time the Eid open house is at City Hall. Previously, it was at home,” he said. In addition, one resident named Karin (42) said she deliberately came to City Hall to meet Pramono. She and her child looked delighted while queuing. “I deliberately came to the open house here, hoping to convey my grievances to the sir,” said Karin. She said she wanted to express her complaints about several TransJakarta stops that are not disability-friendly. “Like at the Kayu Putih stop, the access path is already damaged. Not friendly for disabilities. If possible, I want to convey that to Mr. Governor,” she added.
