Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo hopes that the power outage that occurred on Thursday (9/4) will not recur. “So, this outage is entirely under PLN’s authority, but it impacts us, including the MRT and LRT. Naturally, we hope this does not happen again,” Pramono said in central Jakarta on Friday. According to him, electrical energy is currently a very important and essential matter for the public. As is known, the power disruption was reported in several points in Jakarta, including the Angke area and surroundings, on Thursday (9/4). PLN stated that the disruption stemmed from the system at several substations, causing a temporary halt in power supply to the affected areas. The recovery process was carried out gradually to ensure the electrical system returned to stable and safe conditions before being supplied to customers. The outage temporarily affected MRT services, with operational disruptions at several stations on Thursday afternoon at 17:57 WIB. “This operational disruption was caused by a power supply issue from PLN’s side (CSW), resulting in some station facilities, such as lighting, elevators, escalators, and other facilities, experiencing disruptions,” said the Head of the Corporate Secretary Division of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda), Rendy Primartantyo. He said that all elevated stations experienced a total blackout condition but have now been normalised. MRT Jakarta took quick handling and normalisation measures and continues to coordinate with relevant parties to ensure services can return to normal.
