Pramono Hopes Latumenten Flyover Project Completed by 15 December
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is targeting the completion of the Latumenten Flyover in West Jakarta by 15 December 2026. The presence of this flyover is believed to be able to cut vehicle travel time by up to 10 to 15 minutes because it will no longer be obstructed by a level railway crossing.
“The Latumenten Flyover is one of the most anticipated flyovers in Jakarta. Here, in the morning, afternoon, and evening, the congestion is very high. So when I received a proposal for this flyover to be worked on immediately, I said this is a top priority to unravel congestion in the Grogol, Pluit, Slipi areas, and so on,” said Pramono while inspecting the Latumenten Flyover project in West Jakarta on Thursday (2/7/2026).
“Currently, the progress is 55.2 per cent, the budget is Rp 259 billion. This is one of the priority projects of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government which I hope can be completed on 15 December 2026,” he continued.
According to Pramono, after the flyover operates, the level railway crossing in the area will be closed so that vehicles no longer pass under the tracks. This step is being taken to reduce congestion as well as prevent accidents at the railway crossing.
“I hope the completion of the Latumenten Flyover is on time and hopefully makes Jakarta’s transportation connectivity better,” he said.
Meanwhile, Head of the DKI Jakarta Highways Department Heru Suwondo said the existence of the flyover will cut the community’s travel time by around 10 to 15 minutes. This is because vehicles will no longer have to wait for the opening and closing of the railway barrier.
“Under current conditions, travel time is quite long due to the railway crossing, so traffic is disrupted every time a train passes. Later, there will be no more disruptions so vehicles can directly pass over the flyover,” said Heru.
He estimated the travel time saving would reach around 10 to 15 minutes. “Maybe around 10 to 15 minutes, because previously they were held up for 10 to 15 minutes, later they will no longer be held up, they can go straight through,” he added.
Heru added that the closure of the level crossing will not completely close road access. Vehicles from the north or south can still make a U-turn at the location.
In addition, the flyover will be equipped with Transjakarta bus stops on the east and west sides connected to Grogol Station. Pramono also requested that lift facilities for persons with disabilities be maintained on an ongoing basis.
It is known that the construction of the Latumenten Flyover in West Jakarta began in December 2025. This project is expected to be a solution to the capital city’s congestion.
