Pramono Highlights Persistent Ego Among DKI BUMD Officials: Communication Not Running Smoothly
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has highlighted the persistently high ego among officials, including those in the Jakarta Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) environment. This situation is seen as impeding maximal communication and cooperation between institutions. Pramono made these remarks at the BUMD Leaders Forum 2026 in the Ancol area, North Jakarta, on Friday (17/4/2026). “Our main problem is that often the ego among officials, including BUMD officials, is too great. Communication does not run well,” said Pramono on Friday. According to him, for years, these two areas have operated independently without good connectivity. “It has been running like that for so long between JIS and Ancol, never synergised,” he said. Pramono mentioned that the DKI Provincial Government is now connecting Ancol and JIS with a bridge approximately 350 metres long. In addition, transportation access is being prepared to make it easier to reach both areas. “It will be inaugurated soon. In June, the KRL will also stop underneath, between Ancol and JIS,” he stated. Pramono admitted to having experienced the situation firsthand. “I have experienced it myself, cars couldn’t exit for more than two hours during an event,” he said. According to him, if Ancol and JIS are synergised, the benefits will be felt by many parties, from BUMDs, the community, to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. Pramono stressed the importance of changing working methods and communication in the BUMD environment to be more open and interconnected.
