Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has granted authority to the Dinas Bina Marga to propose quotas for the recruitment of Penyedia Jasa Lainnya Perorangan (PJLP). “For Bina Marga’s PJLP, the department itself knows its needs best. And based on field experiences, there have often been shortages, so I will certainly provide quotas if Bina Marga submits a proposal for PJLP,” Pramono said in East Jakarta on Tuesday. However, the specific number of quotas to be opened for new PJLP recruitment has not yet been determined in detail. Furthermore, the official opening date for Bina Marga PJLP registrations has not been set. Nevertheless, Pramono acknowledged that the current number of PJLP workers at Dinas Bina Marga is still insufficient to handle potholes throughout the capital’s areas. “Bina Marga currently has around 750 (PJLP) and it’s very inadequate when divided among five municipalities and one regency. It’s extremely short,” Pramono stated. Meanwhile, Mujiyono, Secretary of Commission A of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, highlighted that the addition of PJLP workers at Dinas Bina Marga to address potholes requires clear calculation bases. “Without clear measures, the policy of adding personnel risks being ineffective,” Mujiyono said. According to him, every rainy season, the number of damaged roads in Jakarta increases sharply. Pothole spots are scattered across various road sections and directly impact the safety of motorists, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled. He stated that with around 750 PJLP currently handling potholes across DKI, the workload in the field is indeed heavy. This condition, he said, must be recognised as a real issue that requires serious and planned handling. “We understand there is a need to strengthen field personnel. However, adding PJLP must not be done without clear calculation bases,” he remarked. Mujiyono stated that the government needs to provide data on real needs per region, average number of damage points, and response times achieved so far. Additionally, evaluations of existing personnel performance must also be conducted transparently. Without clear measures, the policy of adding personnel risks being ineffective.
