Speaking to reporters in the PIK area, North Jakarta, on Sunday (May 17th, 2026), Pramono said, “Specifically for the Car Free Day in Rasuna Said, why is it scheduled for June 1st? Because hopefully by June 1st, all facilities will be completed, including pedestrian areas and tree planting.”

Pramono reiterated that the CFD in Rasuna Said will take place from 5:30 AM to 9:00 AM. This differs from the CFD in Sudirman-Thamrin, which runs from 5:30 AM to 10:00 AM.

“The difference is that in Sudirman-Thamrin, it starts at 5:30 AM and ends at 10:00 AM, while in Rasuna Said, it starts at 5:30 AM and ends at 9:00 AM because there will be several places for worship that begin at 10:00 AM,” he said.

Previously, the Jakarta Provincial Government temporarily suspended the implementation of the car-free day (CFD) on Jalan HR Rasuna Said on Sunday morning. This policy was implemented after an evaluation of the initial CFD implementation in the area the previous week.

The Head of the Jakarta Transportation Department, Syafrin Liputo, said that the implementation of the CFD on Jalan Rasuna Said on May 10th revealed several areas for improvement. These included the lack of turning points on the east and west sides of the corridor, the absence of TransJakarta lane dividers, and continued illegal parking in several locations.

The department also noted differences in road levels after the dismantling of monorail pillars and congestion of public activity in the Plaza Festival area, causing runners and cyclists to use TransJakarta bus lanes.

Syafrin assured that all these issues would be addressed by a joint task force from various departments. The Jakarta Provincial Government is also preparing legal regulations as the basis for implementing car-free days on Jalan HR Rasuna Said.

“Improvements to supporting facilities and the regulation of public activities will be carried out to ensure that the implementation of car-free days in Rasuna Said runs more safely, comfortably, and orderly,” said Syafrin in a statement on Saturday (May 16th).
