Pramono explains chronology of Fortuner-Alphard convoy that broke through CFD

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has spoken out regarding the viral incident involving a convoy of Fortuner and Alphard vehicles that broke through the Car Free Day (CFD) area on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman on Sunday (23/8).

According to Pramono, the vehicles were actually turned away by officers from the Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) because access to the CFD area had been closed using barriers or roadblocks.

“When the vehicles were about to enter, the road was actually already closed and they were the ones who opened the barrier. In fact, the barrier was also guarded by Satpol PP, and there were also police officers present,” Pramono explained in South Jakarta on Monday.

Pramono explained that upon seeing the incident, a Dishub DKI Jakarta officer on duty at SCBD named Munajat immediately intercepted and directed the vehicles to exit the CFD via SCBD.

However, the vehicles still entered the CFD area. For this reason, the Jakarta administration is currently investigating the incident and checking the ownership of the vehicles that broke through.

Going forward, he hopes that similar incidents will not be repeated. He has even reprimanded the Jakarta Satpol PP to act more firmly.

Previously, a video of a convoy of cars passing through the Sudirman CFD area went viral on social media. In the video uploaded to the Threads account @arief_budi27, five black cars can be seen driving in the right lane of Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, which at the time was filled with residents exercising.

The convoy consisted of three Toyota Fortuner vehicles and two Toyota Alphard vehicles. One of the vehicles was even using a strobe light.

As is known, motor vehicles are prohibited from passing through the CFD area every Sunday morning from 06.00 to 10.00 WIB.
