Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has ensured that the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) at SDN Srengseng Sawah 15 Pagi, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, continues after a bomb threat was made on the first day of school. Pramono stressed that the threat should not make everyone afraid. “I have decided that because the Gegana team has been deployed, Densus 88 has also been deployed, and safety is the top priority for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, this school will continue to operate,” Pramono said at DKI Jakarta City Hall on Monday (13/7/2026). “But we remain vigilant. So, just because it is the first day and someone is trying to scare us, we should not all become afraid,” he continued. Pramono said he had communicated with the DKI Provincial Government ranks regarding the incident. Based on the results of the authorities’ inspection, no bomb was found on the school premises. “I happened to have communicated earlier with all the ranks at City Hall. It is true that at SD Negeri 15 Srengseng Sawah, South Jakarta, someone made a threat. But when a check was carried out by Densus 88 and the Gegana team, there was nothing,” he said. He asked the police to investigate the perpetrator who spread the threat so that similar incidents do not recur. “We will continue to ask for the person who carried out this terror using this issue to be investigated. Hopefully, it will not happen again, but clearly, we are asking for this to be investigated,” he explained. Previously, SDN Srengseng Sawah 15 Pagi received a bomb threat via a WhatsApp message during the flag ceremony on the first day of MPLS. Police immediately evacuated teachers and students and deployed the Gegana and Densus 88 teams to secure the location.
