Pramono Ensures Learning at SDN Srengseng Normal After Fire
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has confirmed that teaching and learning activities at SDN Srengseng Sawah 04 in South Jakarta will continue as normal after a fire broke out. Pramono stated he had asked the Head of the DKI Jakarta Education Department, Nahdiana, to directly inspect the school’s condition following the incident. He said the inspection results showed no serious damage, meaning the learning process was not disrupted. “Firstly, for SD Negeri Srengseng Sawah 04, the fire occurred at approximately 11.36 WIB. Alhamdulillah, it was quickly extinguished and there were no casualties at all,” Pramono said at Jakarta City Hall on Thursday (6/8/2026). He confirmed that teaching and learning activities would resume as usual. “Tomorrow the teaching and learning process will be normal because I specifically asked the Head of Department to check, and after checking, there was indeed nothing serious. So tomorrow the teaching and learning process will run normally,” he continued. It is understood that the fire at the state primary school in Srengseng Sawah, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, has been extinguished. The fire occurred in a book storage warehouse. “The object that caught fire was a book storage warehouse,” said the Head of Operations for the South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-department, Sjukri Bahanan, on Thursday (6/8). Firefighters completed the extinguishing operation at 12.34 WIB. The fire was noticed by the school warehouse keeper who smelled smoke during the teaching and learning process, just before the lunch break.
