Pramono ensures 2026 regional budget amendment draft will be handled with caution

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has ensured that the preparation of the 2026 Regional Budget Amendment Draft will prioritise the principles of caution and prudence to ensure all planned programmes are executed effectively.

“The Jakarta regional budget is prepared with caution and prudence. I have informed the Regional Budget Team (TPAD) involved in discussions with the Jakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) that it is better for us to have a prudent budget that is carefully managed yet implementable,” Pramono stated in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Pramono admitted that he does not want the budget structure to appear large if it cannot be effectively implemented.

Beyond the budget preparation itself, this principle of prudence is also being applied to the development of creative financing utilised for Jakarta’s infrastructure and development.

“Therefore, I am confident that with the existing budget, the quality of development in Jakarta will not be diminished,” Pramono added.

For the record, the Jakarta Provincial Government has proposed a 2026 Regional Budget Amendment of Rp79.59 trillion, a decrease of 2.13 per cent compared to the original 2026 Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget of Rp81.32 trillion.

Regional Revenue in the 2026 Budget Amendment is planned at Rp69.36 trillion, a decrease of 2.93 per cent compared to the original 2026 budget of Rp71.45 trillion.

Meanwhile, Regional Expenditure in the 2026 Budget Amendment is planned at Rp75.08 trillion, an increase of 1.08 per cent compared to the 2026 fiscal year budget of Rp74.28 trillion.
