Pramono: Do Not Come to Jakarta Without Skills and Become a Burden
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has reminded the public planning to migrate to Jakarta amid the post-Eid al-Fitr 2026 return flow that they should already possess skills and clear objectives. According to Pramono, Jakarta is open to anyone wishing to come and seek employment. However, he stressed that everyone must have the ability to work and not become a burden. “So for any Indonesian citizen who wants to come to Jakarta, Jakarta is open. But Jakarta naturally requires people to work with capacity and capability according to the needs,” Pramono stated at Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday (25/3/2026). Pramono does not want people migrating to Jakarta without skills, only to face difficulties in the capital. “People cannot come without any skills and become a burden,” Pramono remarked. Nevertheless, Pramono assured that there would be no Yustisi enforcement operations to regulate newcomers as in the past. “But once again, Jakarta will not conduct Operasi Yustisi,” he said. He also invited the public planning to migrate to Jakarta to come with the intention of working hard and being ready to compete. “Jakarta is open to anyone, but we ask that whoever comes to Jakarta, let us open opportunities to work hard in Jakarta. We will welcome them happily,” Pramono expressed.
