Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has assured that his administration is prepared to follow all central government rules regarding the implementation of work-from-home (WFH) for civil servants (ASN). He stressed that the DKI Provincial Government will not create differing policies and will fully adjust to the latest regulations.

“In principle, the DKI Jakarta government will follow the directives and official regulations issued by the central government,” Pramono stated at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building on Monday (30/3/2026).

However, Pramono emphasised that the WFH policy for DKI ASN will not be implemented on Wednesdays. According to him, Wednesday is the day for public transportation, a routine agenda of the Provincial Government to encourage residents to use public transport.

“The important thing is not Wednesday. Why not Wednesday? Because Wednesday is public transportation day,” he explained.

He elaborated that on Wednesdays, ASN are encouraged to come to the office and use mass transportation, so the Provincial Government wants to avoid policy clashes if WFH is enforced on the same day.

“Once the central government decides, we will decide outside of Wednesday. Because Wednesday remains for public transportation,” he asserted.

1 Day WFH for Fuel Efficiency

The government has set one day of work-from-home (WFH) as a fuel efficiency measure due to the war in the Middle East (Timteng). When will the government announce the WFH day?

“It has been set this week,” said Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto after accompanying President Prabowo Subianto in receiving US businessman Ray Dalio at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, on Friday (27/3).

Airlangga stated that the government will soon announce the WFH day for government employees. Airlangga assessed that the WFH day announcement will not extend beyond March.

“As soon as possible, there are only a few days left in the month anyway. So there is still time,” Airlangga said.
