Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has stated that the proposal from the Minister of Environment, Jumhur Hidayat, regarding Car Free Day (CFD) in Jakarta being held twice a week is currently under internal discussion.

Pramono considers the suggestion to hold CFD on both Saturdays and Sundays to be quite rational and worthy of consideration.

“I have read the proposal, and it is actually quite rational. Therefore, we have already conducted discussions within the City Hall,” Pramono said when met after attending an event in the Central Jakarta area on Friday.

However, he revealed that no final decision has been made regarding the proposal yet.

“When the time comes, we will certainly make a decision,” Pramono added.

He explained that CFD in Jakarta is currently held not only in the Sudirman-Thamrin area but also in the Rasuna Said area. Currently, CFD is held every Sunday from 06:00 to 10:00 WIB in the Sudirman-Thamrin area and from 06:00 to 09:00 WIB in the Rasuna Said area.

Furthermore, Pramono noted that every administrative city in Jakarta now has designated spaces to host CFD events.
