Pramono Demands No Reduction in Jakarta Student Card Recipients
A total of 16,920 university students have received the Jakarta Superior Student Card (KJMU) Phase II for 2025. The figure was announced at the New KJMU Recipient Orientation Forum at Jakarta City Hall on Thursday, 19 February 2026.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that the number of Phase II recipients reached 16,920 students from various higher education institutions. “The total is 16,920 students from various universities,” he said when met at Jakarta City Hall on Thursday.
The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) politician claimed that both KJMU and the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) are priorities of the provincial government under his leadership. He added that beneficiaries with strong academic records may continue their education up to master’s and doctoral level.
“In terms of both quantity and quality, there must be no reduction whatsoever for KJMU or KJP,” he said.
Jakarta Provincial Education Agency Head Nahdiana detailed that KJMU Phase II 2025 recipients are spread across 114 higher education institutions, comprising 97 state universities throughout Indonesia and 17 private universities in the Jakarta area.
Of the total, 2,524 are new student recipients, whilst 14,396 are continuing recipients. Accordingly, approximately 85 per cent of recipients are students who had already received KJMU in the previous phase, whilst approximately 15 per cent are new beneficiaries.
Nahdiana explained that the 2,524 new recipients are spread across 85 higher education institutions, consisting of 69 state universities and 16 private universities. Meanwhile, continuing recipients are distributed across all universities serving as distribution points for this phase of KJMU.
Looking at the distribution by campus, the majority of KJMU Phase II 2025 recipients are studying at state universities, both in Jakarta and in other regions. Private universities in Jakarta comprise 17 campuses serving as recipient locations for this programme.
The total of 16,920 students in this second phase adds to the overall number of KJMU recipients for 2025. The Jakarta Provincial Government distributes the assistance to university students from disadvantaged families who meet the administrative and academic requirements.
