Pramono Confirms Transjakarta, Transjabodetabek, and Mikrotrans Fares to Increase from 1 January 2027

The Jakarta Provincial Government has decided to implement a fare adjustment for Transjakarta buses effective from 1 January 2027. This adjustment will also apply to Transjabodetabek services and Mikrotrans micro-buses.

Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung Wibowo, stated that the fare adjustment starting 1 January 2027 applies to all Transjakarta services, including Transjabodetabek and Mikrotrans. Meanwhile, fares for the MRT and LRT Jakarta will be regulated separately.

“Therefore, the fares undergoing adjustment are those for Transjakarta and Transjabodetabek. As for the MRT, the regulations will be handled later, while Mikrotrans will be regulated alongside Transjakarta as they belong to the same group,” Pramono said at the Jakarta City Hall, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (30/09/2026).

However, Pramono declined to reveal the specific amount of the new fares for Transjakarta, Transjabodetabek, and Mikrotrans. He confirmed, however, that the new rates will take effect from the first day of next year. “It will be regulated together, and the figures will be announced, but it will be effective from 1 January,” he added.

Currently, the fare for Transjakarta and Transjabodetabek is Rp 3,500, with a reduced rate of Rp 2,000 for services between 05:00 and 07:00 WIB. Meanwhile, Mikrotrans services are currently free of charge. With the upcoming adjustment, it is possible that Mikrotrans services will no longer be free.

Previously, the Jakarta City Transportation Council (DTKJ) had proposed a fare increase for Transjakarta, including Transjabodetabek and Mikrotrans. The DTKJ proposed a rate of Rp 5,000 for intra-city Transjakarta services, Rp 10,000 for Transjabodetabek, and Rp 2,000 for Mikrotrans.
