Pramono Confirms Transjabodetabek Fare Increase, Final Figures to be Decided Soon
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has ensured that Transjabodetabek service fares will undergo an adjustment. However, the specific amount to be implemented is still under discussion and will be decided in the near future.
“First, regarding the fares, as I mentioned recently when officially launching the Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta route. At that time, I also stated that it is impossible for the Blok M-Soekarno-Hatta route to remain at Rp 3,500, as other services like Damri already average above Rp 100,000,” Pramono said in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta, on Monday (8/6/2026).
“Therefore, there will be an adjustment; the figure will be decided very soon,” he continued.
This statement reinforces the plan for Transjabodetabek fare adjustments previously announced by the Jakarta Provincial Government. Nevertheless, Pramono was not yet willing to reveal the new rates that will be set.
When asked about reports that Transjabodetabek fares would start from Rp 10,000, Pramono did not provide certainty.
“I will decide later,” he said briefly.
Previously, the Jakarta Provincial Government planned to adjust Transjabodetabek service fares following the operation of several new routes connecting Jakarta with its surrounding areas, including the Blok M-Soekarno-Hatta Airport route. The Provincial Government considers the current Rp 3,500 fare to be no longer relevant for several intercity routes with longer travel distances. However, the government ensures that the fare adjustment will continue to consider public affordability as well as the sustainability of public transport services.
