Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has ensured that the Pedestrian Overpass (JPO) in the Senen area, Central Jakarta, can now be used by the public again after being out of service during the renovation of the bus stop in 2025. He acknowledged that the disruption was caused by miscommunication with the central government, specifically the Ministry of Public Works (PU).

“Indeed, for the Senen Bus Stop, during the renovation process, there was a contribution from the central government through the Ministry of Public Works. So, this was merely an administrative issue, but I have now ordered it to be fully operational starting yesterday, and it is already in service,” Pramono stated in East Jakarta on Friday.

Furthermore, he expressed hope that the public would make good use of the JPO facility, noting that the issue was strictly a matter of communication. He mentioned that the costs for repairing the JPO and the Transjakarta bus stops at Senen and Polda Metro Jaya would utilise the Ministry of Public Works’ budget, which has been prepared for emergency situations.

Authorities noted that the total losses from a series of protests across Indonesia at that time amounted to approximately Rp900 billion, and a budget of that value has been allocated to support the accelerated renovation of damaged facilities. “We have allocated Rp900 billion for all of Indonesia, not just Jakarta. God willing, it is sufficient to cover two JPOs (Senen and Polda Metro Jaya),” said Dody.

It is noted that members of the public had recently protested the unavailability of the Senen JPO. The issue was also highlighted by social media accounts, such as @Ijoeel, receiving significant engagement from followers. Transjakarta users noted that the closure of the Senen JPO had made transit significantly more difficult.
