Pramono Confirms LRT Velodrome-Ancol Line Construction, Already Received Approval

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has confirmed that the LRT line from Velodrome to Ancol has received approval. The route will be constructed following completion of the Velodrome-Manggarai line project.

Pramono stated that LRT Jakarta is currently undertaking the Velodrome to Manggarai section. He also mentioned there is an option to pursue the Manggarai to Dukuh Atas route afterwards.

“There are two options: Manggarai to Dukuh Atas, or to complete the new line that has actually already received approval, running from Velodrome to Ancol via JIS and then Tanjung Priok,” Pramono told reporters following his attendance at the JIS Ramadan Fest in North Jakarta on Sunday (1 March 2026).

Pramono assured that both projects will be undertaken, with the current project completed first. “Both will definitely be built. We are currently finalising the Manggarai section,” he said.

He expressed hope that the Velodrome-Manggarai LRT project will be completed soon, with the extension operational by year-end. “Hopefully by the end of this year or early next year, the LRT from Velodrome to Manggarai will be operating normally,” he stated.
