Pramono Confirms JIS Station Completion in May, Operations to Begin in June
Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, has confirmed that the construction of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) station is entering its final phase. Following discussions with PT KAI, the new station is targeted to be completed in May and to begin operations in June 2026.
“Coincidentally, we just finished a meeting with the President Director of KAI and his team. For JIS, it is estimated to be completed in May, and it will operate in June,” said Pramono during an inspection of the Ancol Pump in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, on Tuesday (7/4/2026).
Pramono stated that the finalisation with KAI not only concerns the JIS Station but also several other transportation projects. These include the completion of the MRT network, the development of the Kota Tua area, and plans for an electric rail line spanning 16 kilometres.
“It’s not just the JIS Station for the KRL. We also discussed other matters, including the MRT and Kota Tua,” he said.
He explained that the electric rail line will stretch from Rawajati to Tanjung Priok, which is expected to significantly facilitate the mobility of Jakarta residents.
“The 16-kilometre electric train from Rawajati to Tanjung Priok will significantly help with transportation ease,” he added.
In addition, the DKI Provincial Government together with KAI also discussed the integration of three important stations in the city centre: Dukuh Atas, BNI City, and Karet. Pramono assured that the coordination process is running smoothly.
“This includes matters regarding Dukuh Atas, BNI Station, and Karet, which we will integrate. It will be carried out soon,” he added.
