The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has confirmed that Jakarta LRT Phase 1B is ready to be operated this month. The public transport network development programme from Velodrome to Manggarai has now reached 97.99 percent completion.

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo said he had personally tested the Jakarta LRT journey from Kepala Gading Station to Manggarai Station. He confirmed that the Jakarta LRT, which will connect 11 stations from North Jakarta, East Jakarta, to South Jakarta, is ready to operate.

“This Jakarta LRT is 12.2 kilometres long, with an investment of Rp 12.1 trillion, stopping at 11 points, and we have checked everything, all of it is ready to be operated,” Pramono said while inspecting Manggarai LRT Station, South Jakarta, on Thursday (13/8/2026).

He noted that construction progress on Jakarta LRT Phase 1B has reached 97.99 percent. According to Pramono, the only remaining issue in the construction of the new LRT line is signalling at several points. However, the signalling work is targeted to be fully completed by 20 August 2026.

Pramono said the Jakarta LRT network will become one of the main public transport systems in the capital. This is because the network has connected three administrative cities in Jakarta. “Later, if we connect it to Dukuh Atas, it will be four cities. So North, East, South, and Central Jakarta,” he said.
