Pramono Claims He Does Not Know Source of Proposed Rp60,000 Per Hour Parking Tariff in Jakarta
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has spoken out regarding the proposed increase in parking tariffs in the capital, which could reach Rp60,000 per hour. Parking tariffs in Jakarta are proposed to vary based on a zoning system.
“The proposed figure for the parking tariff increase of Rp60,000 per hour is not at all a figure from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. I myself do not know where that figure came from,” he said in the South Jakarta area on Monday (28/8/2026).
Pramono said that his administration is still conducting discussions regarding the plan to adjust parking tariffs. To date, no official decision has been made regarding the amount of the new parking tariff.
“The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, in making a decision, will certainly consider many things. Including what is reasonable. To this day, no decision has been made about it. In fact, I only found out about the Rp60,000 figure when it went viral,” he said.
Previously, the Chair of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Parking Special Committee, Jupiter, said that the amount of the parking tariff adjustment is still being discussed in the Regional Regulation Formation Agency (Bapemperda) of the DKI Jakarta DPRD.
Parking tariffs will later be differentiated based on zoning. This means that each area could have a different parking tariff.
Jupiter said that areas such as SCBD, Senopati, Kemang, Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), Gunawarman, Menteng and Pondok Indah will have more expensive parking tariffs. He explained that the reason parking tariffs in these areas will be more expensive is because they are considered to have high economic value.
Conversely, parking tariffs in the outskirts of Jakarta will be lower and adjusted to the conditions of each respective area. Not only that, Jupiter also mentioned that parking tariffs could undergo periodic increases every year.
