Pramono Claims Good Synergy with Central Government, Mentions TNI Assistance in Bantargebang

JAKARTA – Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has emphasised that the relationship between the Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI Jakarta) and the central government is running well. He stated that solid communication is key to handling various issues in the capital. According to Pramono, the synergy established so far facilitates cross-agency coordination, making several programmes and problem resolutions more effective. “I am grateful that we have very good communication with the central government. We receive a lot of assistance or synergy with the central government on various issues,” Pramono said in his speech at the halal bihalal event with members of the Jakarta DPRD, on Monday (30/3/2026). During the event, Pemprov DKI Jakarta provided full support, despite the short preparation time. “One example is the event held by the central government last Saturday; we provided full support for it, and we never calculate anything because this is for the public interest,” he said. Additionally, he mentioned the landslide incident at the Bantargebang Waste Processing and Final Disposal Site (TPST) in Bekasi City at the beginning of March 2026. In that incident, according to Pramono, the central government quickly provided assistance through the involvement of the TNI. “Including what the central government will do for us, when the Bantargebang incident occurred. The President has ordered the TNI ranks to assist us,” Pramono said. Pramono assessed that collaboration between the central government and Pemprov DKI Jakarta is an important asset in facing various future challenges, particularly in improving services to the public. He also emphasised that Jakarta’s management cannot be done solely by the local government. “Jakarta cannot rely only on the Provincial Government at City Hall or the DKI Jakarta DPRD,” he stated.
