Pramono Breaks Fast with Golkar DKI: Already Feels at Home
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, attended an iftar gathering organised by the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of the Golkar Party in DKI Jakarta at the Golkar Party regional office in Cikini, Central Jakarta, on Saturday 7 March 2026.
On the occasion, Pramono said he felt comfortable at the Golkar office, even as if at his own home.
“Today I feel honoured to be invited to break fast with Golkar at the DPD Golkar DKI Jakarta. Honestly, I have visited Golkar twice, and already feel like I’m at home,” Pramono said on Saturday.
“When Mr Basri Baco told me to attend, without a moment’s hesitation I said, ‘Yes, I will definitely attend,’” Pramono said.
During the event, Pramono also outlined several programmes of the Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI Jakarta) that remain in operation, particularly in the education sector.
The PDIP elite confirmed that the Kartu Jakarta Pintar (KJP) and Kartu Jakarta Mahasiswa Unggul (KJMU) programmes would not face funding reductions.
He said education is the key to breaking the cycle of misfortune within families.
The Jakarta Provincial Government has also redeemed around 6,050 diplomas for residents whose diplomas were delayed due to funding issues and is preparing a LPDP-like scholarship programme for Jakartans.
“If we want to change that misfortune or fate, education is the key,” he said.
Meanwhile, Golkar DKI Jakarta chairman Ahmed Zaki Iskandar emphasised that Golkar DKI supports Jakarta Provincial Government programmes that are deemed beneficial to the public, ranging from education and health to economic improvement.
However, Golkar will continue to provide input and criticism of the regional government’s programme implementation if deficiencies are found.
“We must not reach a point where, during the screening of aid recipients, those in need cannot receive it, while those already capable do,” Zaki said.
He added that Golkar, through its faction in the DKI Jakarta DPRD, would continue to supervise regional government programmes, including the phased redevelopment of dense and slum areas that are currently underway.
During the break-fast event, Golkar also distributed around 5,000 basic food packages to the public.
The packages contained staples such as rice, cooking oil, and sugar.
