Pramono boasts to Anies that transport access to JIS is getting easier
Jakarta — Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung Wibowo told former Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan that transport access to Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) is now easier. ‘Mas Anies’s incredible legacy is JIS,’ Pramono said at the Cap Go Meh celebration in Glodok on Tuesday, 3 March. Now transport access to JIS has been built to ease for the public. ‘The KRL, Mas Anies, will stop at JIS. The station is finalised; hopefully it will be completed soon,’ he said. Pramono said the station would be inaugurated in May. He invited Anies to attend the inauguration. ‘So people will only need to walk about 350 metres; all kinds of cars can park at Ancol or motorcycles can park at Ancol, making JIS truly a place I call Jakarta’s future,’ he said. Previously, construction of the Pedestrian Overpass (JPO) linking JIS and Ancol has begun and is targeted for public use in June. The bridge’s curved façade resembles JIS, with reinforced concrete and steel structure. Alongside the JPO, infrastructure for the Commuter Line station in the Ancol area is also being constructed, targeted to be finished in April. ‘So in June, when the Jakarta anniversary events are held at JIS or Ancol, it will surely make it easier for the public to attend from anywhere,’ Pramono said.
