Pramono Beats Rebana Drum With 1,300 People, HI Roundabout Takes on Religious Atmosphere
JAKARTA - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung opened the Jakarta Ramadhan Festival at HI Roundabout in Central Jakarta on Friday, 27 February 2026.
Pramono, dressed in white attire with a black peci cap, was accompanied by his wife Hani, Deputy Chairman of the Jakarta Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) Rani Mauliani, and Jakarta Regional Secretary Uus Kuswanto.
The four stood at the front of the procession and commenced rebana drum-beating simultaneously with 1,300 participants dressed entirely in white Islamic attire. A distinctly religious atmosphere pervaded the HI Roundabout area, which is surrounded by office buildings and shopping centres.
The event stage was decorated with Ramadhan-themed ornaments in green featuring Islamic motifs and miniature mosque replicas. Rebana participants lined the footpath and stage areas. Nearby residents paused to observe the festival opening procession.
Pramono stated that the Jakarta Ramadhan Festival was held under the theme “Homecoming to Jakarta,” designed to encourage residents to enjoy the Eid season in the capital through various conveniences provided by the government.
Several tourist destinations, including Ancol, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (Mini Indonesia Park), and Ragunan Zoo, will offer simplified access for those celebrating Eid in Jakarta.
“Importantly, Jakarta will be safe and comfortable. For anyone wishing to celebrate Eid in Jakarta, there will be many benefits. Hotels will be more affordable, service access will be easier, and for transport during the Eid period we have arranged various conveniences, including the possibility of free services,” Pramono said.
