Pramono: Baznas DKI Jakarta Collaboration Successfully Restores Housing for Fire Victims

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, together with Baznas (Bazis) DKI Jakarta and PT Malahayati Nusantara Raya, has completed the Bedah Kawasan Programme in RT 14 RW 02, Pela Mampang Urban Village, Mampang Prapatan District, South Jakarta. The programme has delivered 16 habitable homes for residents who lost their dwellings in a fire in February 2026. The revitalisation was inaugurated by DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung on Tuesday (21/7/2026). It forms part of the long-term recovery effort following the 10 February 2026 fire that destroyed 16 houses and affected 22 families, or approximately 60 people. Previously, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, together with various parties, provided emergency response through the establishment of refugee posts, distribution of logistical aid, health services, public kitchens, and assistance in restoring the affected residents’ civil administration documents. Through the Bedah Kawasan Programme, the impacted settlement area has been reorganised with a housing concept that is healthier, safer, more comfortable, and has better air circulation. The revitalisation cost approximately Rp960.3 million, sourced from a collaboration between Baznas (Bazis) DKI Jakarta and the Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility programme of PT Malahayati Nusantara Raya. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that collaboration is key to expanding public access to decent housing, especially for disaster-affected residents. “In 2026, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government together with Baznas (Bazis) DKI Jakarta is targeting the construction and renovation of 633 decent homes. The Bedah Kawasan in Pela Mampang is one manifestation of this collaboration, with a total budget of approximately Rp960.3 million supported by PT Malahayati Nusantara Raya and Baznas (Bazis) DKI Jakarta amounting to Rp360 million. Through this programme, 16 houses inhabited by 22 families or 60 individuals have now been restored into safe, comfortable, and decent housing,” said Pramono. Chairman of Baznas (Bazis) DKI Jakarta Akhmad H Abu Bakar emphasised that the programme not only focuses on rebuilding the burnt houses but also on restoring hope for the survivors. “This Bedah Kawasan Programme is not just about rebuilding houses affected by the fire, but also about restoring hope for the community to start a better life. Through collaboration with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and PT Malahayati Nusantara Raya, we want to ensure survivors can return to safe, comfortable, healthy, and decent housing. This is tangible proof that zakat paid by the community can deliver direct benefits to those facing disaster,” said Akhmad. With the completion of the area’s revitalisation, residents can now return to more decent homes while enjoying a better-organised settlement environment. This programme also serves as evidence that synergy between the government, zakat management institutions, and the private sector can provide real solutions for disaster-affected communities, while strengthening the spirit of mutual cooperation in rebuilding residents’ lives.
