Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has banned the use of official cars owned by the Jakarta Provincial Government for Mudik during Lebaran. He stressed that anyone who violates the rule will face heavy sanctions. The prohibition applies to all officials within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government without exception. He said the rule is important to maintain security in the community during the Lebaran holiday. ‘We are asking travellers before they return to report to the local RT and RW,’ Pramono said. He warned that if a house is left unreported and a theft occurs, the government at RT, RW, or kelurahan level would be blamed. On the other hand, Pramono assured that public services in Jakarta will continue normally during the Lebaran period. He said the flexible working arrangement ‘work from everywhere’ starting next week will not affect public services; Jakarta’s services have been prepared to ensure no changes.
