Pramono bans political interference in selection of DKI regional-owned enterprise directors
Jakarta (ANTARA) - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has banned political interference in the restructuring or selection of directors and commissioners for Badan Usaha Milik Daerah (BUMD) of DKI Jakarta.
The ban, he said, aims to ensure that competent and professional individuals are selected for these positions.
“As Governor, I fully trust the current process. Even when restructuring directors, commissioners, and so on, I only ask for one thing: no political interference, no placements. If there’s a decision involving the Governor, choose the best people,” Pramono stressed in the Jakarta Utara area on Friday (17/4).
He acknowledged that DKI’s BUMDs still have shortcomings. However, in terms of performance, several BUMDs, including Bank Jakarta, PAM Jaya, Jakpro, Dharma Jaya, and others, have now shown improvements.
“Therefore, the key is that I give opportunities, and I trust you all to manage these companies,” Pramono stated to all DKI BUMD leaders.
He fully desires that in the future, Jakarta’s BUMDs become better and grow healthier.
“If anyone claims to be acting on my behalf, they must speak directly to me. I am truly keen to build these BUMDs to be better so they are not burdened by unproductive matters,” Pramono said.
To that end, he asked DKI BUMDs to have a better work culture, open-minded thinking, and good communication.
If issues arise that require decisions, Pramono said he is always ready to listen to all DKI BUMDs to tackle the problems together.
