Pramono bans Eid al-Adha livestock traders from selling on pavements, to issue warnings

Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday 20 May 2026 – In Jakarta, I have already issued instructions that selling should not take place in places that disrupt public activity, especially on pavements, in gardens, and in parks, Pramono said. He was speaking at Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday (20 May 2026).

Pramono said traders found selling at prohibited locations will be given a warning to move their stalls to a suitable place. “Such traders will immediately be given warnings and told they must not sell,” he added.

In addition to highlighting selling locations, Pramono assured that prices of sacrificial animals in Jakarta remain relatively stable ahead of Eid al-Adha. He noted that stocks of cattle and goats are also sufficiently available. “Alhamdulillah up to today the prices of sacrificial animals in Jakarta have not risen; they are relatively stable. The number of sacrificial animals, whether cattle or goats, is currently fully available in Jakarta.”

Moreover, according to Pramono, several regions are now sourcing their sacrificial animals from Jakarta. He said this demonstrates that the supply managed by Dharma Jaya, the Jakarta provincial food BUMD, has been prepared well. “And indeed some regions have ultimately taken their sacrificial animals from Jakarta. This shows that the BUMD responsible for it, one of which is Dharma Jaya, has prepared well,” he concluded.
