Pramono Attends World Cities Summit in Singapore as C40 Vice Chair

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung attended the World Cities Summit (WCS) 2026 series in Singapore from 14 to 16 June 2026. His presence at the international forum carried a dual mandate: representing Jakarta as the capital city and fulfilling his role as C40 Vice Chair for the East Asia, Southeast Asia, and Oceania region. The agenda began with the C40 Mayoral Convening, a forum bringing together city leaders from various countries. This was Pramono’s first meeting in this capacity since being appointed Vice Chair by C40 Cities in April 2026. For Jakarta, participation in the World Cities Summit 2026 provided an opportunity to seek solutions to urban challenges in order to create a more comfortable, environmentally friendly, and competitive city. The forum also served as a momentum for Jakarta to strengthen cooperation with various international partners and open investment opportunities to drive regional economic growth. ‘Jakarta is open to green financing investment and public-private partnerships to support urban cooling efforts. However, these efforts also require support from the global financial system,’ Pramono stated, as quoted on Monday (15/6).
