Pramono at Monas Highlights Global Conditions, Emphasises Message of Peace from Jakarta

JAKARTA – Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung attended the “Holy Reflection Night for World Peace” event at the southern intersection of Monas, Central Jakarta, on Saturday night (18/4/2026). In his speech, Pramono touched on the current global conditions, which he assessed as not being well. However, he believed that Jakarta and Indonesia could still serve as examples of unity amid those global circumstances. “Indonesia is a home for the values of tolerance, unity, and peace,” Pramono stated. Pramono said that as a global city, Jakarta has a responsibility to be a role model in maintaining harmony amid diversity. Therefore, the DKI Provincial Government is committed to strengthening unity and supporting cross-religious and cultural activities. He also assessed that collaboration between the government, society, and spiritual figures is key to building a peaceful and civilised life. “From Jakarta, we send a message of peace to the world. May the prayers we offer bring goodness and blessings to humanity,” he said.
