Jakarta (ANTARA) – Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has assured residents that the budget for flood management overseen by the Jakarta Water Resources Agency (SDA) will not be cut amid adjustments to the Regional Budget (APBD).

“Basically, the SDA budget won’t be cut,” Pramono said after inspecting the Mampang River normalisation works in South Jakarta on Thursday.

Pramono said the Jakarta Provincial Government is currently improving a number of rivers ahead of the coming rainy season to help prevent flooding.

The normalisation works are being carried out on the Ciliwung, Krukut, Cakung Lama, Mampang and Angke rivers.

The administration is also dredging drainage channels and improving retention ponds as part of its flood-control efforts.

He hopes these measures will help reduce the impact of flooding that has affected several areas of the capital.

Jakarta’s 2026 Regional Budget has been set at Rp81.32 trillion, Rp10.54 trillion lower than the 2025 budget of Rp91.86 trillion.

The decline is mainly due to reduced revenue from Transfers to Regions (TKD), which fell from Rp26.14 trillion in 2025 to Rp11.16 trillion in 2026. The largest decrease was in tax revenue sharing funds (DBH), down Rp14.79 trillion.

The 2026 Jakarta Regional Budget was formalised through Regional Regulation No. 4 of 2025 on the Regional Budget for the 2026 fiscal year. The regulation was promulgated on 23 December 2025.
